Is Buyer's Remorse in the Philippines Possible?

What is buyer's remorse? Originally coined to refer to a feeling a person often gets after making a large purchase of products or services. Although excited at first, but once they've tried using the product and thinking of the money spent, they started to feel a deep regret and concern that they made a wrong decision.

I have been a SmartBro customer of Smart Communications since 2004, I terminated my service last 2010 and applied for their new SmartBro Plug-It service. At first, I really enjoyed the service I got from them. After a week, I started having connection problems. I called their customer service several times and  numerously told it would be fix in 24 to 48 hours.

I went to their center and asked them, "Do you have a trial period that I can cancel the contract just in any case I don't like the service?" Sad to know, but they answered me "NO". In my case, it was a two-year contract. Now I have no choice but to stay with them based on the the length of contract I signed, otherwise I will pay the contract termination fee.

Strange huh? Some of you might wanna know what I wanted to convey. What I meant of Buyer's Remorse is actually a period of time in which a customer can terminate a signed contract/service with no penalty. It also supports device exchange. In the US, the length of time varies depending on what state you live in. It may range from 14-30 days. During the time, you can try the product and service out to make sure that it will fit your needs. If not, you will need to return the device and everything that came with it to the point of purchase and cancel your service. However, if you returned the device on the day after the end of your remorse period, then you can be held liable for the Contract Termination Fee. Sounds good but sad, we don't have this in the Philippines.
